Back in 2003 Jonny Strinati (aka Jonny Likes Vinyl) met up with Chris Hughes (Chris Likes Cassettes) at college in Manchester having both wandered in from relative obscurity. Jonny's previous musical outings was holding up club owners in Leciester at gun point while Chris was terrorising the streets of Wirral with his busking.
After sharing musical tastes in techno and house Jonny stubled across some early Fingerlickin' tracks. Both were sold and the idea of Splank was conceived.
Splank!'s main mission was to keep breaks funky by stealing ideas off truly talented people such as Parliament, Earth Wind & Fire, Rick James and general 70's & 80's disco funk, for there own gain to form a new genre, P-funk Breaks.
