Simon Paul has been releasing records since 1999 on such respected labels as 2wars, Robb G’s Promo Records and most recently signed to Splank! Records. His releases have gained wide support from renowned heavyweights Drummatic Twins, SuperStyle Deluxe, Friendly, Koma & Bones, Steelzawheelz, Myagi and Nick Thayer. The Drummatics showed their support with a massive remix on Simon’s last record, the funky belter “One Dollar Disco”.
Simon has returned the remix favour for Sgt Rock and his fellow Canadian and good friend Myagi with more in the works for 2006. Simon’s tracks can always be counted on for funky, choppy beats and floor rocking hooks. Although his sound and style are always progressing he graciously leaves one foot back in his roots of hip hop and funk. Simon’s DJ sets are a full flavoured, full-bodied brew of highly caffeinated funk.
His energy behind the decks is as contagious as the vibe on the floor while he’s playing. With his ever present quest for party rocking beats, a strong sense of the dance floor and more than a dozen original tracks and remixes under his belt, Simon Paul is definitely one to watch for.
