SlackShot are Tony and Adam Gainsborough. Brothers originating from the South Coast UK both of whom are well known in the industry and are turning out to be big players in the UK's Breakbeat scene for many reasons...
Adam is the younger of the 2, Singly known as MrMoneyShot and is not only a Dj within SlackShot but is also a promoter for many nights across the country including the massively successful "The Drop Off" held in Camden every month. Adam is also the co producer on the Jay Cunning show on Kiss FM which can be heard every Tuesday night. His styles vary from low slung Hip Hop to Electro House and Nu Skool Breaks although he takes his influences from a large spectrum of Djs.
Tony or SlackG is the older of the 2 and has been Djing for over a decade now and has many strings to his bow. Firstly Tony has been the Manager of www.nsbradio.co.uk for 3 years now turning it from a small unknown internet radio station into the Worlds Largest Breakbeat Radio Station with Djs and acts from all over the globe all presenting their own shows from the native Studios. It has now been nominated two years running for 'Best Radio' at www.breakspoll.com the International Breakbeat Awards. He has also launched the brand new Artist Management Company, NSB Agency. Coupled with the very successful NSB Radio events that he runs alongside www.nuskoolbreaks.co.uk owner Jimmy Brayks.
Tony started his music career working on a Holiday camp 12 years ago playing all sorts of party style music including his 1st true love, Disco, which gave him the knowledge of how to add excitement to his DJ sets. Having been mixing for such a vast time has meant that he virtully plays anything that he considers will work well in SlackShot sets albeit in a busy bar or a Super Club.
Together, Tony and Adam form SlackShot. Originally starting off with their first residency alongside A.Skillz @ legendy Chichester Pub The Bull, now these guys are playing absolutely everywhere!!! You may have seen them play at Ministry of Sound, The Big Beat Boutique, The End, Turnmills plus hundreds of other locations across the country. Many have said that SlackShot have their very own unique style displaying funk from all angles whilst carefully blending elements of Breaks, Electro, House plus many, many other styles to create a totally unique form of pumping, jacking, uplifting Dj set. However, they quickly accommodate to any type of venue they find them selves in and sit as comfortably in a warm up slot at a cocktail bar as they do in their headline guise. They've proved this at many of the clubs and bars that they have played such as 333 in Old St, Herbal in Shoreditch, Fingerlickin's Bar Vinyl in Camden, Ministry of Sound, London, TheBigBeatBoutique in Brighton plus the Club night they run, Wasted Audio which travels across the country offering a unique mix of indie, Alternative Dance, Electro and Breaks. With their extremely popular weekly radio show on www.nsbradio.co.uk playing host to guest mixes from the likes of Koma & Bones, The Drumattic Twins, Meat Katie, Soul of Man, Vandal, A.Skillz, UK Beatbox Champ Beardyman, Nick Thayer, Moston & Malente, Lee Coombs, Rogue Element, Kid Blue, Metric, Flore plus dozens more big name Djs with more in the pipeline and with their studio productions that just keep coming thick and fast including the offering from Darft Phunk Vs SlackShot due for release on Splank! Records in July07.
They do also play apart from one another, each offering their very own style of presenting a wide spectrum, of music. Adam with his party Hip Hop, Jackin House and Party & Peak Time Breaks and Tony with Quirky Downtempo Electro Funk, 70s Disco, Electro & Bassline House and of course Party & Peak Time Breaks too.
